Our Team
We pride ourselves on working with Pilates instructors who have trained with the top globally recognised pilates training institutes. All of our teachers have gone through rigorous training and exam certifications and continue their professional development to provide safe and knowledgable instruction for our clients.
Our instructors are passionate about movement and have many years of experience to share with you. We encourage our clients to attend different classes to gather as much knowledge about their body and movement as they can from the wealth of knowledge our instructors provide.

Rachel Stephenson
Founder of The Reformery, Rachel has been teaching pilates for 20 years.
Rachel’s classes encourage you to move in each exercise through the use of anatomical reference and education.
Be it a gentle or strength and conditioning, you can expect to activate muscles that you quite often didn’t even know existed.
She is highly skilled at helping her clients understand how to execute the Pilates repertoire safely and effectively.Rachel teaches contemporary style of Pilates and modifies exercises for all levels of client ability with safety, skill and precision.
Rachel qualified in Mat pilates through the Pilates Foundation and Reformer Pilates with STOTT. -
Irena Karapetyan
Irena has been teaching Pilates to groups and individuals since 2017, including to pre and postnatal women, which she is very passionate about. She trained with Polestar and Mama’s Pilates and is a mentor for the Polestar Pilates UK teacher training courses.
For Irena, Pilates was initially a stress and back/knee pain buster while she worked long hours as a solicitor, as she delved deeper into the method over the years, became fascinated to discover how and why it was so beneficial for our physical and emotional well-being.
To her, Pilates is a method for weathering the storms of every stage in our life and is extremely effective in preventing/minimising pain, restoring and maintaining our physical and mental functions, so that we can meet whatever challenges life throws at us from a place of stability and inner wisdom.

Rebecca Evans
Originally from the States, Rebecca leapt across the pond to explore dance and movement in London, 20 years ago.
As a professional dancer she embarked on a 35 year journey of movement. Over this time she watched and worked with many different bodies. When she completed her Mat training in 2016, Rebecca brought much of what she had learned from dance to her classes – creativity, technique, inclusivity and an absolute joy for movement.
With c-curve scoliosis and a few injuries over the years, Rebeca knows first hand that every exercise is not right for everybody and works with clients to find the right modification and level for them. In class you will get a fun, flowing, challenging experience for the whole body backed up with some classic American enthusiasm… awesome is still one of her favourite words.

Alison Hunter
Alison trained with Polestar Pilates as a comprehensive teacher and teaches across all the pilates equipment.
She discovered pilates after years of back pain & back surgery. Initially it was a tool for rehabilitation and rebuilding strength and mobility but her interest and desire to understand the method better, led to her decision to train as a teacher.
For Alison, pilates is many things: a way of keeping mobile and supple; a method to reduce or prevent pain; a source of wellbeing in its grounding and calming capacity; a way to combat stress and a method to stay functionally fit allowing her to continue other activities. It has become an integral part of her life which she uses as a tool in many different ways.
Her aim is for every client to finishing her classes feeling better than when they entered. It is important for her that everyone takes from the class what they need at that point in time. She appreciates that everybody has their reasons and motivations for practising pilates, encourages them on their own pilates journey.

Mariella Fortune Ely
Not only a surgical doctor in the NHS, Mariella is trained as a contemporary and ballet dancer.
For Mariella, freedom of movement and maintaining a well-aligned, active body have always been essential. She believes that Pilates is the perfect practice to support good body health while fostering curiosity and a creative flow.
Trained by Polestar Pilates, Mariella teaches contemporary Pilates grounded in strong anatomical and physiological principles, seamlessly integrating her medical knowledge.
She is passionate about making Pilates accessible and empowering for her clients, helping them move confidently in their daily lives and sports activities. In her classes, participants can expect a supportive environment tailored to their holistic goals.
Whether through assisted or advanced exercises using various equipment, Mariella is dedicated to nurturing each individual's journey in Pilates. -
Paulina Rogalska
Paulina started her fitness journey in her teens exploring everything from gym workouts to dance classes. In 2008, she decided to teach movement based classes, completing her Pilates teacher training in 2017
She believes that when people do Pilates they are more energised, feel empowered, healthier and happier.
Paulina stresses the importance of listening to one's body and with that raised inner awareness, she supports clients to establish & maintain their mind-body connection.
Her focus is on functional total-body moves and core work both of which she believes are key to moving your body in the most balanced, safe and effective way possible.

Tessa Maye
Tessa is a skilled BASI Comprehensive Pilates instructor who first experienced the transformative power of Reformer Pilates in 2014 while living in Australia. Her extensive training at the world-renowned BASI Pilates has provided her with a solid foundation in a blend of classical and contemporary Pilates techniques.
Tessa’s teaching philosophy is rooted in creating a welcoming, inclusive, and body-positive space, where clients of all levels feel inspired and empowered to move with confidence. Her classes are thoughtfully designed to build strength, mobility, and resilience, while also making you feel the burn and leave every session feeling accomplished.
Whether you’re a beginner, seasoned practitioner, Tessa’s friendly and uplifting approach ensures you’ll leave each session feeling stronger, more capable, and energized to thrive both in and out of the studio. -
Val Godfriaux
Val’s Pilates journey began 15 years ago when a demanding City job led to persistent back issues. Seeking relief, she discovered Pilates as a remedy for her back and an effective way to reduce stress.
After years of personal practice, she decided to turn her love of Pilates into her career, gaining her Mat and Reformer qualifications with Polestar Pilates. Polestar Pilates has a global reputation as the most scientifically sound curriculum setting the standard in Pilates education.
Val is passionate about sharing the Pilates transformative power and all-round goodness. With meticulously planned classes, blending intelligent movement, mobilisation, strength and targeted fascia release, she has creates a fun and varied Pilates experience.

Amelia King
Amelia knows that exercise can feel daunting and intuitively guides clients through an embodied movement practice to achieve a greater sense of wellbeing. She creates a positive, inclusive space for all to be able to move through the class with joy, precision and a renewed zest for life.
Amelia discovered pilates six years ago while dealing with a chronic pain condition and a stressful workload as a Documentary TV producer. She began by learning the classical method and found that pilates transformed her life allowing her to move pain free, reducing stress and enhancing her entire wellbeing.
After years of practicing classical and contemporary pilates with world renowned teachers while living in Australia, Amelia came back to her hometown of London where she discovered the Polestar method and fell in love with this style of teaching.
She decided to take the leap to share her passion for pilates by training with Polestar Pilates.

Katy Howe
Katy discovered classical Pilates as a teenager whilst studying contemporary dance & ballet at university and has maintained a self-practice for over 30 years. Crediting Pilates with keeping her strong and mostly injury free throughout her professional dance career, KT qualified with Polestar Pilates as a reformer teacher expanding her knowledge of movement.
Katy understand first-hand how Pilates supports health and gives its practitioners improved physical strength, balance and co-ordination, whilst simultaneously providing mental clarity, strength, positivity and focus.
As a lifelong movement practitioner, Katy understands it’s ability to soothe the nervous system believing that toit allows us to develop greater awareness, stay present, self-regulate, find balance and feel connected. She believes the transformative nature of Pilates is for everyone and every type of body.
Through an embodied movement practice and with careful attention to form, Katy aims to accompany clients on their journey towards movement confidence and strength. By creating a welcoming and inclusive environment her hope is that clients will leave feeling energized and positive, empowering them in all other areas of their lives.

Vanessa Edwards
Vanessa is trained in Mat Pilates specialising in pre and post-natal Pilates. Her teaching journey began after a challenging c-section recovery and a period of postnatal anxiety.
During this time, she turned to Pilates and embraced a more mindful approach to exercise, focusing on listening to her body. Pilates became a way for her to rebuild not just her physical fitness but also her mental health. This transformative experience helped her find a strength and sense of wellbeing she hadn’t felt even before pregnancy.
Pilates has become a life-changing tool for Vanessa, and now it’s her passion to share its benefits with others. Her teaching style is holistic, blending a focus of strength and toning with calm and wellbeing.
Vanessa’s goal is to create a warm, inclusive space where everyone feels welcome, boost their mood, and build confidence. She incorporates mindful breathing techniques and guided visualisations, helping participants leave feeling stronger, uplifted, and deeply relaxed.

Antonis Sporidis
Originally from Greece, Antonis has spent years teaching modern dance technique at the Greek National School of Dance and numerous dance studios across Athens.
His constant pursuit of new methods to enhance his teaching led him to discover Pilates, whose evidence-based approach, focus on injury prevention, and holistic benefits deeply resonated with him.
After becoming a certified Polestar Pilates instructor, he shifted his focus entirely to Pilates, working with individuals from all backgrounds.
He enjoys bringing elements of dance and musicality into his teaching, using rhythm and flow to create a dynamic and engaging movement experience.Passionate about helping clients build strength, control, and body awareness, he tailors each session to meet their unique needs and goals.

Amar Sahota
With a deep love for movement, Amar finds immense joy in guiding others to build strength, mobility, and confidence through Pilates.
Amar is a passionate Pilates instructor who has been helping clients transform their bodies since qualifying in 2018 with Polestar Pilates.
Believing that the body is a beautiful, ever-evolving masterpiece, Amar embraces the challenge of improving movement and function for every client.
Whether working with beginners or experienced practitioners, Amar is dedicated to creating a supportive and inspiring space where people can reconnect with their bodies and unlock their full potential. -
Liz Higginbottom
Liz came to Pilates through a dance performance background. She trained initially with Pilates method Alliance in Washington DC, and over the past 23 years has expanded and honed her training across a variety of disciplines including Gyrotonic movement, yoga and ballet.
She encourages honesty on the mat; to be authentic with yourself on where you are in your physical, mental & emotional self every time you practice. Liz encourages you to discard the superficial & delve into the body & breath to steer the mind towards clarity.
At The Reformery, Liz leads group classes in mat pilates, pre/post natal pilates, Barre & injury recovery/prevention.
